Home Made Apple Sauce

This is used in a lot of muffin and pancake recipes and it’s really easy and cheap to make. I usually whip up a couple of batches when Aldi have the apples in their ‘super 6’ 49c a bag offer!!
Quantity:
Makes two small or one Large Jar
Cost:
€1.33 in total (assuming apples are not on offer!)
Ingredients:
- 4 eating apples
Method:
- Core the apples, and chop into chunks
- Place in a pan on a high heat and put in enough water to just cover the apples
- Once it comes to the boil, turn down the heat and put a lid on the pan
- Simmer until the apples become mushy- this doesn't take long, so check and give them a stir regularly.
- When mushy, allow to cool a bit and then use a hand blender to turn them to pure.
- Put in a jar and store in the fridge.
Nutritional info:
Per Jar!

Tips:
- Don’t throw out your old peanut butter or olive Jars, you can reuse these for storing your apple sauce in.
- Use as many apples as you want for this recipe, if you are planning on doing a lot of baking it makes sense to make up a few jars in one go.
